Spare a minute; pause and ponder.
How long has it been since you took an evening walk?
Are we running a race! It makes me wonder,
I think about the days when I had the time to talk.
I’ve been waiting to stare at the stars,
You know how it is, I can’t move from my table lamp.
Is it worth it or is it just a farce?
I envy the buffalo that lazes in the swamp.
My work is my purpose; my pen gives me the biggest joy,
In the process, I lose out on the small joys of life.
So much has changed! From being an adolescent boy,
Late night movies and the beer, oh! it cuts like a knife
guess you have to move on and dump the past,
‘Now’ will become ‘old times’, future turns to present.
How true it is! That, time flies too fast.
You can do anything, least of all prevent.
So I tell my self to live like there’s no tomorrow.
And when tomorrow comes isn’t it another day?
The strange mix of life, joy and sorrow,
If you understand and accept it, brother, that’s the way.
