Money can buy anything

a poem by Soumalya Kumar De

Money can buy anything,
from a king size whale,
to a mini bus for your ride.
But can money buy,
the horrors of darkness at night.

Money can buy a luxurious palace,
to a ravishing sports car for your wife.
But can money buy the sorrows
of a mother who loses her son in a fight.

Money can buy a discotheque,
to a sweet honeymoon flight at night.
But can money buy,
a bit of prestige for black from a white.

Money can buy a well furnished room,
to a high-tech gadget to fight.
But can money buy our past history,
where our great heroes lost their lives.

Money can buy a dinning set for nine,
to a music composition for a prize.
But can money buy the evils,
of our lives for a better peaceful life.

Money is the greatest thing,
in today’s world of crime.
But still it fails to give us,
the true happiness of our life.
