A lost soul

a poem by Ronan

Standing over the waters edge
of time and space
a lost soul threw o’er the
placid waters a line
baited with hope.

She awaited yet, unexpecting
weathers of coming years fluffed
her hair as she smelt the coming breeze.

She sighed, a monotonous sigh
heaving in air from the past
exhaling pain from forgotten childhood dreams.

A soul in loneliness
our lost soul awaited.
Hark, the lines pulled
temporarily, not forever
she awaited, a hopeful look
overshadowing her grief.

She cast another baited line
and waited.
