Divinity within

a poem by Ramesh Narasimhan

Seek, seek, but never find;
Are you groping? Never mind.
Off and on, you discover;
Hidden strength and power.

Where is the source, you ponder?
Who is the redeemer, you wonder?
I am within, but you never guessed;
Being eternal, you’re much blessed.

Secretly prompting good action;
Reminding you of its reaction;
Conscience-keeper of your life;
Reliever of stress and strife.

Know Me as your only goal;
Know Me only as your soul;
Why seek everywhere,
Paths that lead nowhere?

Earthly pleasures are fleeting;
Time on these need deleting;
Look inside you, there’s divinity;
Blend yourself with That, in unity.
