Relief?

a poem by Mint

Last few nights
I invariably found
Myself in the
Attic of my mind
Dusting with patience,
Cleaning layers
Of cobwebs
From mind’s memoirs

There was lot of work.
Pleasantness to gather,
Faint memories to brighten,
Bitterness to wash,
Grudges to bury,
Wounds to nurse,
Emotions to reveal,
Desires to rest,
Unconscious thoughts to unearth!

Now that I am done
Hoping for a fresh page
Cherished memories are already
Knocking at the door
Trickling down the roof

Guess, relief is fleeting
Go on welcoming
Each morning with a cheer
Who knows where
The night will steer
