Irony of Life

a poem by Mint

A gunshot,
Cut through the serenity of the jungle
A shrill whistle,
Shocked and dispersed the animals
Fluttering wings,
Carried the birds as away as possible
Ridding hoofs,
Got closer to the prey
A shaking body of a dear,
Counted last breaths!

A bewildered lion,
Poised for attack,
Didn’t quite understand who made his life easier?
Ran off with the dear.
