Desire

a poem by Karthik Palaniappan

Withered flowers adorned my way
And the cool breeze swept over me,
I walked my way through the autumn trees
As the bird cuckoo sang for me.

Lost in the glory of rainbow
And the sparkling white snow,
I dreamt of touching the sky
As I watched the flock of cranes fly.

Wonder what else I wanted
And wonder why I am here,
Wonder what I am looking for
And wonder why I feel like a looser,
Though all that I did and all that had happened was
What I dreamt and what I desired.
