A Candid Speculation

a poem by Ayona Sur

We hear the classic encores of
The melodies of nightangles,
We see the mysterious moon
In the fascinating vast sky,
With crimson tainted beaks
The hue of lovely butterflies.
With kaleidoscopic wings
The swarm of bedecked bees,
And the chirping of enchanting birds,
I set myself for epiphany,
Because… I am in love

The fresh scented breeze at dawn
The swaying of svelte branches,
The surreal in the mountain air,
The sight of ruddy rugged terrain.

The scintillating rhythm in a violin
The smile of an infant
And the luxurious vibrant cascades
Are indeed aspiring… only when
You are in love.

The spectacular setting of the sun and
the wonder of the mysterious night,
The beautific lustre of the stars,
The sight of the enchanting tulips
Nestled in nature’s lap.

The silvery snow-white mountains
The silent message in the eyes of a beloved one
The ethereal feeling in a cozy home, with everyone around.
The rhythmic rustling in the bamboo shoots,
The electrifying laughter of a young maiden
And the first shower of a repulsive summer
And an aura of mystery… only when
You are in love.

The dwindled rays of an evening,
The silence and tranquility in a temple,
The florid canopy of frangnant journies,
The alluring dance of a graceful peacock
The majestic gait of a sorrel horse,
The catchy tunes from a faraway flute
Are indeed wishful and fascinating… only when
We are in love.
