A mute companion

a poem by Ayona Sur

Everyday I look at you,
with tender little ripples rising in my heart,
Tell me can you feel it? Can you see it?
If not then we are drifting apart.

I like you the way you do,
but in a very muting solitude,
I want you to cherish it within you,
And if you can’t then I’m abandoning you.

The fragrance of love should be felt with stillness and calm,
Everyday I long for the touch of your palm,
Tell me can you smell its delicious aura,
If you can’t you don’t deserve me in this world of flora.

I am bashful don’t you see?
To look up in your eyes, I’m as scared as can be…
Can you speculate the shyness in my eye?
If you can’t then you are fading away and by

Be my love, be my mate,
Because you are residing in my mental state…
Tell me is it possible for you to be my fellownian…?
If not its a humble request that be my mute companion…
