In Twilight Zone (Haiku)

a poem by Purushothama Rao R

In the twilight zone
Two bodies in shrills
Parents of some one

– – – – – – – –

As the night falls
Shivering old age
In the grip of fear

– – – – – – – –

Like migrating birds
Parents oscillate
Between progeny

– – – – – – – –

A week long waiting
For a weekly phone call
Quivering oldies

– – – – – – – –

Greenery
Growing fast in old age homes
Dollars manure in wide spreads

– – – – – – – –

The roots getting
Dried
As parents wail around

– – – – – – – –

Let dusk be dragged
To dawn
Another day in precincts
