He waits for her in the dark,
Eyes fixed longingly to the window,
Moments tick by and so his thoughts,
Waiting
In a time when the nights are slow.
Strangers greet and fade away
Leaving him all alone,
But his hope is strong and will concrete,
Rhyming
His heart to her pleasant tone.
Time slips away into infinity
And beyond to places strange,
He has found a soul not sure somehow,
Existing
In a world of eternal change.
He remembers the chance encounter
He had the other day,
Or was it night again? He knows not now as
Feeling
Of company has blurred its way.
Hope turns to impatience now
And then there is the fury strong,
He has to be the good guy again,
Wondering
What is taking her so long?
He moves around and looks for things
He knows he already has,
Mindless thoughts are coming back,
Sitting
In wait for the faceless lass.
The clock makes way for another day,
As he gets up to leave in despair,
He goes to bed while she gets up,
Calling
Out to him “hey!!!! r u there???”
