Christmas

a poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

The centre of
Attention
That’s me,
Mr. Santa Claus.
I’m the one
Who brings you
Gifts and
Jingle bells.
Jesus! Who’s he?
A mythical
Figure the Romans
Nailed to a plank.
For fantasizing
About being a king.
Blabbering
About his father
And deliverance.
Salvation?
From what.
Believe in me
Because I bring
You concrete
Evidence of
Being here.
