The Shining Star

a poem by Ayush Verma

I see the stars twinkling,
On the black blanket up above.
There are some spots on the moon’s crest,
Which I recognise as white feathers of a night Dove.

Two stars are blinking at each other,
Flirting and teasing.
Being shy and hiding behind there own light’s smother.
There’s a relief, a beauty very pleasing

Even the gleaming moon started to cry,
When one star lost its shine cause the other fade away.
Now there’s something different in the wide sky,
The one star left shone the brightest, even in the day.

The bright white pearl is still alone,
And the moon sees it going far afar.
It’s incomplete story still goes unknown,
And the people on earth call it the Pole Star.
