Reborn

a poem by Christuraj Alex

Reborn here now without baggage,
My soul, like a small fish, once brailed;
Deceit, like darkness, did damage,
Shrunken shrouded paths, now, unveiled…

Reborn here now without baggage,
Failed psychic bonds, like love-nests, built;
Ached, once, like a bird in a cage,
Commitments, rebuilt, like tuned lilt…

Reborn here now without baggage,
Loneliness, like stains, washed away;
Wrecks of delusions done salvage,
Hope and joy, like blooms, slowly sway…

Reborn here now without baggage,
Soul in my body jailed and pained;
Lingered long like a lame savage,
Reaches home safe; great wisdom gained…
