An Ode To The Egyptian Summer Goddess, Nut

a poem by Charishma Jaikishin Ramchandani

Dear Mother Nut, Goddess of the Sky,
Arching o’er Earth, from the heavens so high
Whispering important messages, in my ear,
You make me feel precious, and truly so dear!
Starting my day, the Sky Queen Way,
Is truly wonderful, with tensions at bay
Imagining that, on soft green lawns, I lay
The tension in my muscles, just melts away!
Beautiful Goddess, of the day and the night,
Your beauty is perfection, in all its might
Slender and graceful, You are ultra-divine,
Peace-loving beauty, of the heavens pristine!
Striking lightning, and thunderstorms sometimes,
Seems like, Your playing with windchimes
Animating ’em, with cosmic energy,
Yet keeping the heavens, in perfect harmony!
Oh Dearest Goddess, How do you do this all?,
Making no mistake, be it spring or fall
Whenever to the heavens, me You do call,
I’ll sit in Your lap, and watch this all!
