I love the season of…

a poem by Mary Mathew

I love the season of spring
When the flowers sprout from the snow
That was gone and bring
With it the sun’s warm glow.

I love the season of summer
When the loneliness of the trees is
Cast away by the birds that migrate here
And sings merrily in chorus on the branches.

I love the season of autumn
When the multihued leaves grace the lawn
That gets crushed under the gentle trod of my feet
With each falling leaf, I feel nostalgic about my past.

I love the season of winter
Which to some maybe accursed for the coldness
It wafts, but it is a season for reflections
On the past year’s losses and terrors.
