It was a place
I had my childhood spent,
Reminding me of desolate
Fort in bygone eras,
But here nothing to fear about.
A shady place stood
Reflecting the cool beams
Of the full moon light,
It was days I remember
Spent with animal passion,
And mind boggling fantasies.
Those starry nights gave glow for
the play ground,
we bathed in the meadows
which was like a water fall for us,
steps were like cascading river
in which we rowed,
One day when I went to play
A board said,
None is permitted to enter,
To a time indefinite,
Days rolled by,
Every day I watched,
How deserted that place came to be,
It seemed to me like a ailing person,
With weakened body,
Dying day by day,
None to care,
I did not know why
Days again rolled by,
Rolled like that speeding train
Also my childhood.
But one day I saw,
Some have to come to nurse
It like a forsaken man,
I prayed,
At last day has come,
Every day I watched,
Every day it looked refreshing
Than previous day,
Sooner, or later, I knew
it would come to its former self again,
But only this time, I thought
I won’t be a child.
