Marine Drive

a poem by Satish Kakri

Lively waters of the monsoon sea
In the fading light of clouded sun
Was a great sight anyone can see.
Winds and waves danced, adding to the seaside fun…

Waves threw waters on the sidewalk
Gradually grew the evening dark
Making the lights shine brighter
Energising tired bodies, making them much lighter.

Rising waters of the sea
Wetting, washing leaves and trees
Heavy traffic made car to crawl
Happiness unbound; pollution did maul.
