Chatterbox

a poem by Sujit Salian

She says I talk a lot,
She says I am a chatterbox and a joker,
I guess maybe she is right,
but she is my friend, why should I say anything to her?

Yeah, she is my very good friend,
tomorrow she may tell I am a big bore,
She can tell anything she likes,
Isn’t that why friends are for?

A friend needs to tell you,
what they think of you, what you really are,
Without bothering to care, the next day…
whether they are allowed to sit in your car!
