The Outlaw Cloud

a poem by Uday Lalan

Come Love! Now it’s time to rejoice!
Breathe into this night a song in your soft voice
For the outlaw cloud has freed the kidnapped moon
And night has mellowed which makes my heart swoon!

Around the fire let’s then slowly dance
Holding hand in hand, as if in a trance
Oblivious of the world, on this moonlit shore
To the tune of waves’ musical roar
Until we see the moon melt in sun’s first ray
And until we see the first ship entering the bay-
Make haste! Over eternal love a shadow can’t be cast
Yet this good weather like fragile life won’t forever last!
