Caught in the deadly web of venom
A butterfly struggles to survive
Her body though badly trapped
But her hope still fresh like morning dew
She was born to be free
yet hovering between life and death
A superior species dominates
No excuse, no justification!
For that’s the Law of Nature
Now the butterfly knew that too
For eventually she settles down
And calmly surrenders
Her life is now swaying rhythmically
On the threads of the web
The fleeting seconds greet the spider
And he smoothly injects the venom
Virtually showing his supremacy
Now the butterfly lay stoned and lifeless
Admiring the Darwin’s law of survival!
