Sometimes I wonder, I oft wonder aloud,
does clouds hide behind sun or sun creeps under the cloud.
Who lives up there and beyond,
seeding angels among mortals, smiling softly and loud.
such is one angel I met on a City Street,
appointment when with gloom I craved to keep.
Such was the sparkle, joy in her eyes,
soft beauty of skin, radiance all around,
ever smiling, rose lips, flocks of gold as wind frills.
I chanced upon her, at the street corner, as I turned around,
helping a sad little girl, making her proud.
Tears is woe and woe is mystery,
one look in my eyes, she told my bad history.
Comforting me in her arms as she walked along,
felt like a breather, like had never felt for long.
Day-after-day, would stand at the street corner,
day-after-day would bump into her and smile.
clever as she was this angel- she could smell me from a mile.
Helping me change into a rainbow from a stormy night,
I clutched her tight lest she leave, with all my might.
Day came when I brought roses before the Rose
asked her if she would be my SUN, earlier than the earthly sun rose?
Sweet smile and a musical nod,
Oh how wonderful I felt. Oh that Angel of God!
As I held her hand, I asked her name,
angels don’t have one, she told, but still the same.
I spur of light and happiness abound,
I christened her Nishika,
my love for seven rebirths,
for seven round live and abound.
Today I live as happy as ever can be,
for lively a wife Nishika,
proves how homely, a heavenly angel can be!
