I want you

a poem by Elaine E. Howie

You are all that shines in my dusty life
You give me the juices for my plight
You stick to me as if glue
You never stop being you

You walk with a softness that I can’t describe
You show me love when I want to hide
You tell me secrets in the night
You hold me in your arms very tight

You hold my hand on grey days
You listen to all the funny things I say
You reach for me when I feel alone
You are the one who keeps me home

I want you even when I am feeling blue

You make me laugh out loud
You seek me out in huge crowds
You wake me up to my sexuality
You tell me not to forget to just be me

You cry with me in dark times
You sit me on your lap and say silly rhymes
You are good to me always
You never let our love fade

I want you if you want me too
I want you yes I want you
I want you babe do you want me maybe?

You are my lover and my best friend
And I will always want you
The End
