Heartbreak…

a poem by Madhura Dabholkar

My heart broke, when you refused
Am I bad, is what I asked you.

Your silence said it all
I understood what it was
With a heavy heart, I moved on.

I stayed on the path
On which we promised to walk together,
You walked off easily, as a change in weather.

I prayed to God, to send you back to me
And you come back running,
I wished it could be.

Days passed by, I became more strong
Why should I cry, who’s left and gone.

Seasons change and so do you
But never hurt, who loves you true.
