Fatal Attraction

a poem by Jagganathan V

My youth free from worries, full of energetic bubbles,
Short-lived as they are, giving way to sweeter troubles;
Just like any young man, I also met my dream girl,
Oh! the earth seems lifeless and things around me swirl.

She wasn’t the greatest of beauties, I would say,
She was for sure not the sun, but definitely a ray,
And a ray, a ray full of hope and joy,
I was to her, what a child was to a toy.

An amazing sculpture, she was that intricate poise,
seeing her, I hear all those divine melodies,
there is no more unpleasant noise.
Purer than a mother’s milk, fresher than the early morning dew,
Simple but seductive and strange, this is someone really unique and new.

There is some spark in her, that sparks that triggers my passion and creativity,
With her invincible charm, she captures me with her graceful eternity.
Eyes lucky to have seen, had not seen wouldn’t have caused any distraction,
Restless now shirking off my responsibilities, that is what it is “fatal attraction”.
