The Futile Quest

a poem by PCVC

There were times, I pondered what life is,
Multiplying its perplexity ‘n’ dilute all ease!

Consulted, numerous existing and extinct beings,
To confuse further and leave me wonder more!

Some remarked the essence of life be naught,
More pronounced it as quite a resolute trot!

The latter said, “live to be said once lived”,
For more others, magic of life be self-revealed!

Sure, none could enlighten me, than life, itself,
Not I live it, no wonder can I not quench myself!

But, as it is lived, it is offering more than more,
And thus make my living be a charming tour!

I’ll never be able to know for what I was born,
Yet I rejoice life, marking every year bygone!
