A Vision

a poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

On the first night of my life I sleepwalked,
Awoke in a stream one fathom deep.
And washed my face in pale moonlight.

A faun appeared spellbound by the esoteric
Mood of a silver flute.

Razor sharp volcanic rocks cut my feet
And my soul flowed to a greater ocean.

An alabaster body I left behind in my dream
Of immortality.
