Burning Buds

a poem by Sakthi Ravichandran

A black day will come as Deewali
To suck the lives of small buds
Every sparkles of a crackers may swallow
The childish glee of a bud
It is cruel! enjoying the tears of small kids
How we have forgotten to realise this so far?
To feed themselves and to their family
These buds are burning in the Sulphur and Phosphorous
Do you feel this, my dear!
To celebrate a second of that day
Thousands of kids will have to work and die
Is it needed to celebrate?
Raise a question to save their’s life
