The Sand

a poem by Hari (Hyd)

I am lost
for words,
all around it is blue.
The sky, the sea
my pants
and myself.
They merge yonder.
A continuum
It goes on and on
and on.
On the shore, I stand
ignored, unnoticed.
I feel the silence
in the rumbling
of the waves.
The harmony suspended
in the breeze.
With an aching heart.
There are many more
like me.
The sea and the sky, one.
My feet tighten their grip
as the water
lashes against my feet.
I turn back,
to return
to the unchanged world
I came from.
All the tangles
still in place.
The sounds of the sea
echo in the ears.
That union warms the heart.
And to my feet
clings the wet sand.
