Waiting in the Wings

a poem by Sathya N K

As I look back, it has been a callous boulevard,
On an uncouth terrain, under harsh milieu ward.
Plummeting at times, but kept progressing hard,
With aver in mind and hope in heart-broad!
At times, pleasure and pain coupled did sprout,
Many marched past me, while I stood and smiled.
I settled, saying it’s a passing phase and I have to broil it out,
Unwavering, my struggle for survival continued…
My stabs were complete and ingenuous,
I toiled taut, day and night with fidelity and dedication.
Like the rain that falls, the air that wafts,
Sun that shines, swaddle equally on every person.
Waiting in the wings today I stand tall,
Looking up to “father destiny” for his call!
