Night is Young

a poem by Padmini

The night was silent and young.
It was a just you and me.
We stood high in the mountains.
In the shade of the trees in the moonlight.
Words were not exchanged between us.
We just looked at each other in silence.
It was just a picture of innocence.

Then our arms moved a sight to see.
We crushed each other in pain and love.
It was as we met the first time.
The fresh feelings of the emotions crossed by.
The touch of your arms were my final song.
For what could I ever give you.
My love! Except me and my soul.

My lips touched yours for the first time.
It tasted like old wine which was intoxicating.
It was a sweet feeling of your presence.
It was all I ever wanted and wished for.
Your presence is like heaven come to earth.
What could we give each other
Except each other’s presence and love.

Have I ever seen heaven come home.
Yes true to say in your eyes.
Where I feel I belong truly.
For whenever your eyes met mine.
There was fire really everlasting.
And this eternal fire burned our souls.
For you belong to me and I to you.
