Honesty is not only truth in word
But it also means truth in deed
He swears to his own hurt and altreth not
For he scorns to lie and that he cannot

His brew is wet with honest sweat
He earns whatever he can
And looks the whole world in his face
For he owes no man any debt

Trust and respect of others come to him
For they know they can rely upon him
His character like rock is strong and fixed
A foundation on which trust can be found

The honest man though ever so poor
Is king of men for all that
Since he receives rewards with frequency
For “Honesty is the best policy”
