Don’t make me Laugh

a poem by Chetan Bhatia

In my loneliness I breathe,
in my tears I soak in;
you can’t ache my heart anymore,
it is already in pieces and broken.

Deep in my ears,
my heart cries out loud;
deep in my eyes,
my tears got dried.

With a heavy heart,
of bruises and scars – so many;
god, if there is,
take my soul if I have left any.

With heart break lyrics,
and notes of sorrow;
come, be my friend,
if you need pain to borrow.

I need someone to caress and heal,
to this, there is no denying;
till then don’t make me laugh,
‘cos most probably I will end up crying.
