When dreams beckon

a poem by Swapna Raghu

Twirling tendrils
of an exploding
vermillion sunset
wraps it’s breath
around me, tempting
me like a wanton,
sensual seductress.

Long lost
melodies catapult
into the
barrenness around
me, the notes
fragrant with
scent of dreams
filling my soul
into completeness.

Perhaps, this is
what happens
when dreams beckon,
perhaps, this is
the secret
which hold our
interest to
be hopeful of
our tomorrows…
when dreams beckon.
