I used to dream in my childhood nights
Of monsters and ghosts that gave me frights,
Of angels and Gods beyond the skies
Their glorified existence, I knew not were lies.
I used to dream in my childhood days
Of flying like an astronaut into deep, dark space,
Of being a scientist who studies the star
Discovering strange new laws of nature.
I used to dream during my youthful days
Basking in the hopes and colours of teenage,
Of garnering undying fame, far and wide,
Changing the world with fortune at my side.
Sigh! I don’t dream any longer though,
Fate’s hollow laughter, I think I know.
Reality fetters the thoughts in my mind,
Dreams have ceased, no longer I can find.
