Amnesty

a poem by Purushothama Rao R

I want to behave safe and secure
Hereafter in the word play
Not hurling epithets hurting others
And not to allow them to turn hostile thereafter

Some words when used sparingly
Work like bullets piercing sharply into others’ hearts
Some words behave like arrows
And get straight into their souls cruelly

Some words move with astronomical velocity
With all atomic intelligence dumped in them
Some words at times hit the target like a sharp stone
Pelted against the others as for sure success

I want now to change my attitude
Desire to keep cool immediately
Not reacting even to others irrelevant comments instantaneously
Thus not forcing myself to use of all words as rockets

Now I want to Amorphous my activity
To sound differently hereafter
Life is undoubtedly short in span
Let it smell sweet and shower fragrance altogether
