Once a Golden Bird

a poem by Aishani Goswami

Now we’re known to be on the top,
But did we ever wonder that it all started as a rob?

Once it was a golden bird;
A bird soaring high.
But an arrow shot it,
And down it did lie.

The bird fell down,
but not it’s many chicks;
They even laid their lives for it,
And protect its future beaks.

To repay these great people,
We did everything we could be.
But even if we try our best,
We can’t match these deeds.

Let us join our hands
And restore the bird’s wing;
Let it be the golden bird again,
Time already gave its ring.
