The Lake

a poem by Vineetha

A speeding boat
Slices the waters
The twilight bathes
All sights and sounds
In mellow hues
The sky echoes
With the cries of gliding birds
The lake rests
Calm, content
All storms stilled
By the dusky sun’s
Immaculate grace
The wind hums
A simple tune
The Buddha smiles
The stone heart throbs.
