A talk with my mind

a poem by Varsha Israni

When one day,
With my mind I had a talk.
What I heard was,
Only anger, sorrow and pain,
Again and again
   When “What happened?” I said,
“Angry with me my may(mother)” it said.
“What did mom say?” I asked,
“Bad words, curses and whatever someone may”
“For this little reason angry with may you’ll stay” I said
“hmmmmmm I don’t know” it said.
“Ill tell you what to do” I said.
“Close your eyes and think who she is.
She is the one who gave you birth
And brought you in this world.
Taught you to crawl, sit, stand, walk and talk.
She taught you to do good deeds
   And gave you the freedom
To ask for help whenever you need.
   After this love and care
With which she brought you up
   When you do some flaw
You don’t understand that she feels so low.
So forget all these petty things,
And put for her with your arms a ring.”
So when one day
With my mind I had a talk
I swept the wrong thoughts away.
