Memories

a poem by Tanya Mirchandani

Of another day
Of another time and place
Of a moment out of time
Of a flash in eternity

How sweet they are
Bitter-sweet… dark chocolate
Full of joy and laughter
Masks to hide the pain

Milestones in a lifetime
What do they mean?
Coincidences, chance occurrences?
Destiny’s games?

One life, many milestones
Many roads to choose from
Different choices, different outcomes
How shall we play the game?

Whatever the choices
Whatever the game
The tears behind the laughter
Will always be the same.
