Life on my shoulders
Hangs like a soldier’s gun
A necessity of course
But not a pleasant one.
Life for me right now
Is an unfriendly guide.
Who rarely speaks
But stays by my side.
Life for me at times
Is like a shrewish wife,
Who makes pleasantry disappear
Replaced with endless strife.
Yet Life for me is a friend
Who cannot live without me
Perhaps that’s the only reason
I still have his company.
