Love ‘n’ later

a poem by Sushma

I am only human
Not more than that
Try as much as I can
Not to be less than that.

Cannot blame oneself
For the mistakes that have occurred
Easier to hold the other self
Guilty or all that’s accrued.

I was wrong to fall
For the false charms.
To believe those tall claims,
Otherwise alarms.

Two sides of a coin
Are different, how well
This I had known.
Needed none to tell

Too much is the undoing
Of many a foolish- me!
Behind the mask, was the being
I never wanted to see.

Now when all is out
When the purpose I served
Finished the entire bout
Realise that I have been betrayed.

Revenge sounds sweet.
Though the fault in me lies.
Guess I am not all that neat
Just human and a little nice.
