I got the bitter taste of disappointment
when I received back
the manuscripts of my poems
without comments
from the editor.

I was never for their print
but friends urged me
into doing so
after reading the poems
one after another
admiring them
and declaring me
someone of substance
who needed to come out in open
to share with others
the humble offerings.

So enthused and
sufficiently charged
in right earnest
I set about the task
and poured out my soul into words
the result of which I just announced.

I was a temporary recluse
and was debating options
should I bow to the editors
unspoken verdict
or search elsewhere for response
in search of self expression.

Till I saw the light
in the form of poetsindia
and its great offer
and since then the things are different
for when I see my words in print
and read those of others
a silent thanks goes to
the creator of the site
for the brilliant attempt
and imagination
to bring many like me
to a platform like this
for self expression and satisfaction.
