Govern-mental Drought

a poem by Shaukatali Mukadam

Last year Kargil. This year Rajasthan.
Due to the lack of Governments plan.
When it rains, it pours.
But Government policies are very poor.
Can’t build dams for fifty years.
When apathy falls, it shed crocodiles tear.
For someone’s visit it spends crore.
For its own people don’t have any more.
Such is its value system,
Prefer animals over human.
Once or twice a year, public have to pay dear.
