I confessed my love to him
I know,
He also loves me.
But he said,
“Please be just a friend of mine”.

I feel dejected
My life is void without him
Why he rejected my love?
The question echoes in my mind

What shall I do?
My Lord!
Many a time I tried
To keep away his thoughts
But I failed miserably
That much I love him.

I opened my heart to him.
He repeated the same,
“Please be just a friend of mine”.
Tears welled from my eyes,
My heart experienced a piercing pain.

Now I know,
‘To be loved” is a precious gift,
And I won’t get it by force.
But one thing I am sure
My love to him is “pure”
and it is forever.
