You Said

a poem by Sara Hooks

Friends forever we would stay,
or that’s what you used to say

You said independence is no longer needed,
eventually we would fell compleated

I believed you not thinking it was a joke,
so I decided HEY I have a friend so never mope

I said around the corner I have a friend,
believing that our friendship would never end

But I was so very very wrong,
so down that friendship that was found

You said never worry I’ll ALWAYS be there,
but now since you betrayed me I don’t even care
