Love

a poem by Sanchita

On the basis of which the world around exists
The essence that a saint preaches and persists
It is this that one finds ahead, behind, below and above
This pure feeling that fills every heart is love

Love can be discovered in the smallest of things
Joy in our hearts this inclination this brings
Love is more precious than a gem or a drop of water
Depletion of love in the heart makes one’s life to totter

The saying goes- ‘love your fellow beings as you love yourself’
Don’t show them false love; you’ll deceive your own self
Love is to identify one’s inner, eternal power
One has to go through a lot of perception to seek this power

Love is a journey through misfortunes and sorrow
One may feel depressed today but happier tomorrow
Love is a unique flower with petals both dull and colourful
Fall into the depth of love, this experience is wonderful

Many misunderstand true love and are lost in space and time
To show false dreams of untrue love is just a big crime
Don’t get caught in deceptive love, it’s an immense vexation
People often mistake it as a sane feeling but it is a mere creation

The joy of giving and unwilling to accept is love
The sensation that is prolific and not dreadful is love
The ability to make one laugh and moan and not feel alone is love
The consideration of compassion and not the cause of shun is love

Oh! Lovers don’t defile love, retain its sanctity and let it be chaste
Let this journey of love be smooth, do not attain haste
The rein of love is in your hands; do not afflict it by any chance
Let it not depreciate, give it no distress, just allow this love to enhance
