The Final Run

a poem by Rajesh J

(Feelings of a 12th Std. student facing his final examination)

The fan is still groaning
the clock is constantly ticking
the last nerve of my white eye
has turned atlast red.

The night is slowly moving
the pages are still rolling
the breath of my homesters
is remaining those precious values.

My ears are blocked with lessons
no tears to soak my eye
for they say this is my final run
but, I never saw any end.

For the past twelve years
I hear the same words
this is nothing new to me-
and this is no exception for any student.

The exams end tomorrow
so, there seems an end
the results may be good or bad
yet, I should face the breeze or freeze
so with a cup of coffee
my hairs gain a brisk
still the pages continue to roll-
and my life with all.
