Loved ones

a poem by Pranay Jain

My life is like the rising sun
Entered a thought in my mind as I gazed at the sun spreading its crimson rays
And I asked myself,”Would it be as sweet as the sound of a nightingale?”
Would its pace be as swift and smooth that of the flight of a bird?

At times, I feel as though my life is under the heat of a blazing sun
My life is afraid to face the hurdles that are to come in its way
My life is full of grief and sorrow
I am now weary of my life

But then, a voice within me says
“Don’t you give up, the heat of the midday sun has given way
to the mellow gentleness of the evening sun.”
The hurdles have been crossed
Life has won and surged ahead and is prepared to cross other hurdles.

For as long as there are hurdles
Life will have a motive to it
The day hurdles no more exist
LIFE, TOO, WILL LOSE ITS MEANING, ITS SENSE OF PURPOSE.
