A Secret

a poem by Prajakta Kharkar

I wish I could shrink
And be a small lass
I could be lost
In the green grass.

I’d dance with the breeze,
I’d slide on the blades,
I’d bathe in the dew,
When the night fades.

No one would find me,
I’d stay there alone
It would be heaven,
My home, sweet home!

I wish I could shrink
And you could shrink, too
Then we would share
The grasses and the dew.

Then you and me
Would share the secret
The romance of the world
Beneath the green carpet!
